You rarely have time for everything you want in this life, so you have to make choices.Hopefully your choices can come from a deep sense of who you are and who you want to become.

Saturday family day

We only get two of these a month so we have to make the best of it. Alice was insistent the day before that we go to the zoo and 'buy tickets for the train and go on the train, buy tickets on the merry-go-round and go on the monkey.' She is quite the little girl, she knows exactally what she wants, and thats putting it mildly. Well, thanks to our lovely zoo membership we went to Hogle Zoo on saturday Morning. It was extrordinarily fun. I love going in the winter. It was a mild day and we would have been fine with just jackets if it wasn't for that darned canyon wind. So we looked awfully funny walking through the sunshine in parkas, and Dan in his shorts. The animals were active and happy (and eating lots of raw meat and dead animals) and Alice had the time of her life. Well, at least she had a fun time. She loves the zoo and would happily go once a week if we would let her.
They don't open the carasel until the sun has come all the way up, and then they only open two of the little plastic flaps. but, suprisingly, we didnt ride on the monkey. Alice insisted on riding on the peacock. Which is a seat and does not move and just stays put. I have never ever been on one of the seats. In my opinion if you are going on the carasel you got to do one of the animals that goes up and down, and youc an't even chicken yourself out and ride the giraffe or something similar, they don't go up and down, its only a step above the peacock seat. Well wavering the mind of my daughter is next to impossible and so when the peacock seat was chosen we all had to attend to the 'command'. But surprisingly it was fun. She had a blast waving at all the people as we went around and around. But the biggest moment of the day was leaving the merry-go-round. There was no fight, no anger. And, we didn't even preare her for our departure. She exited the ride happily and jabbered all about her experiences at the zoo all the way untill the car.
She is old.
And its weird.
Looking back on the last two and a half years I do wonder were they have gone. But I have such a wonderfully happy and good natured two and a half year old, as much as I miss the baby. I love her all the more now.
