First ballet lesson

So last week Alice had her first ballet lesson. A few weeks ago as we were walking to the library we passed the dance studio (thats really expensive) that has pictures of dancers plastered to there windows. Alice intermittedly wants to take ballet lessons, but for some reason after this particular journey by the ballet studio, the want truned into a need. I casually mentioned that Aunt Jes knows ballet as we walked by and that seemed to settle the deal. Aunt Jes was teaching her Ballet, as soon as we got home Alice pulled out Disney coins to pay her to teach her. Jes and I had previously made plans for a weekly get together (yay for Justin and his badpipping ways, she had a ride) So it was decided that Jes would conduct a short ballet lesson before we 'hang' (teehheehee) Alice was thrilled.

Day of the first lesson she wore her ballet outfit ALL DAY LONG and for the last hour she faithfully stared out the window waiting for her. Excited some?

Well the lesson began and Jes, in all her wise ways, chose to teach Alice 'real' ballet. Meaning the real words, real moves everything. This is exactally what Alice needs. Somehow she can tell when people dumb things down for her and gets very very mad. And since that first weekend I have heard nothing but 'Pliet, first position, relevet and tondue' sung through out the house (and yes I know I probably slaughtered the spellings on those - but alas I am not french) I think Alices only regret is that she wasn't a prodigy and couldn't instantly dance on her toes.

The weekly lesson is now a hit and very eagerly awaited moment in our house. I cannot thank you enough Jes for doing this - you rock!
