Marbelized Paper
I had completly forgotten about this project since my elementary days so, thanks to Unplug Your Kids for the reminder. I thought this project might be a little to advanced for alice, and while she may not have grasped the science concepts, the mess concepts where thouroughly enjoyed. I really needed something to dive back into reality and help my mind to focus on my family, now and how improtnat what I have is, and wouldn't you know it. This deffinatly did the trick. We had lots of fun, lots of mess. And the outcome was beautiful art.
You have to excuse the naked alice pics, I don't think my child does anything in our house with clothes on. Usually its a battle I will fight, but with my slolwy recovering physical state it has to be foregone. And besides, food coloring and oil are not good for clothes... her knees are still pink.

Alice helped with every step opf this project. She loved mixing the oil and Food Coloring together. She loved it so much that she spilt it all oer, but the counter is already stain free so so far so good.

She helped me to put the color into the pan (we didn't have a pan quite wide enough, so this one had to do) and swirl it around. After I showed her the first peice with the finished project she became determined to the rest. WHich was fine with me her project after all. She put each paper carefully into the an and then pushed it all the way to the bottom. That unfortunatly is NOT what you are supposed to do, and our papers are still dripping oil because of it lol. Oh well, she is two and she had fun. That is ALL that matters.

She pulled it out all by herself and was very proud and excited of her work. She did such a great job and I had so much fun!! And so did she!!
