You rarely have time for everything you want in this life, so you have to make choices.Hopefully your choices can come from a deep sense of who you are and who you want to become.

Diaper Show off

Photobucket

There is nothing like itty-bitty fluff to brighten your day. I could go on and on as to why I use cloth diapers but most people don't want to hear it. There a lot of preconceived noptions that cloth is gross and smelly and did I say gross. But, I will tell you this - I have never touched as much poo in my life as I have with the kids who are in disposables. And, in my year of cloth diapering Alice, I NEVER touched a pin.

So here is my newborn stash of diapers. total cost: 95.00. This will last through the newborn, size one and the first part of size two if you are going by disposable diaper size. So, in short: this will cost A LOT less than disposables.

Wipes, why use disposable wipes when using cloth? use cloth wipes and just throw it in the wash along side. My wipes are standard wipe size and are made from flannel, to terry cloth, to fleece. There are 25 in all, every one with a faux serged edge. I will have to make some more after we move.

All of the soakers and doublers (the absorbant stuff) I have a lot.

Prefolds. Yes, prefolds are what people think of when they think of cloth diapers. Most people use REALLy cheap gerber ones as burp cloths now a-days. These are not gerber prefolds. These are super soft, super absorbant green mountain pre-folds. 18 in all

Leggings. Leggings are a god send - esspecially for a winter infant or a child that is learning to crawl. I made these out of regular tube socks. They work great to keep legs warm and can be used in place of pants for cloth diaper users.

Covers. I have three PUL covers (the brown ones) and the rest are made out of fleece. I love fleece for covers, sews up quick and keeps the moisture where its supposed to go. I tried wool for a while but never relly got the hang of it.

Longies - basically fleece pants that also double as a cover. I need to make more of these but ran out of fleece - I need to buy more.

The kimono tops - I need to make more of these too, but once again ran out of fleece.

These are the diapers I bought. The TINY ones are darling diaper newborns. And yes, they are tiny. They will probably last until baby hits 10 lbs. SO these truly are newborn diapers. They are All in ones (meaning the don't need a cover)The other are Bum Genius One size fits all. They size adjust. They are set at the smallest size for this picture. These diapers are also All in ones and will size adjust until baby is potty ttrained.

You are great. They do look so pretty and squishy.
I love to see " parts " of Alice in almost every picture. Her toe, foot, leg, face, arm. ...

Vania and I " love " to look at the "floating baby on your site". We think it waived at us.
