You rarely have time for everything you want in this life, so you have to make choices.Hopefully your choices can come from a deep sense of who you are and who you want to become.

Wheeler Farm and the Pumpkin Patch

So after Dan's car accident he couldn't go back to work right away, whiplash gave him pains and lifting machinery was out, so he was home for a bit (still is because there is no work) The break worked out perfectly because he had to job interviews scheduled, so he didn't have to put up with rearranging work and his boss' snide attitude. During one I decided to take Alice to Wheeler Farm, we can normally kill a couple hours there easily and she likes looking at the animals, even if how they are taken care of makes me sick.

(obviously I am not sick in the picture, just have a large pregnant face lol) Well his job interview ended up being 4 hours long, leaving me and Alice trapped at Wheeler Farm, of and did I mention that this was after we got rid of the cell phone - meaning I had no way to contact anyone... fun fun.
Actually I wasn't mad. At first I was excited, long interviews are good signs that he got the job (which he did, he starts on the 19th) but then I became concerned that he was in ANOTHER car accident. Thank goodness he wasn't

Alice was trooper through the whole waiting process. She never whined or complained, she just laid on the bench, or in my lap as we sang songs from Mary Poppins over and over again. We went up to watch for the car at one point and I was able to get some good shot of her that I am planning on using for her three year old pictures. A bit late I know, but at least I got it done.

Once Dan did show up, we did that which we had originally planned to do when he returned, visited the pumpkin patch. The pumpkin patch was a little overpriced for my tastes, 4 dollars and all that was left were tine or green pumpkins. But Alice had fun.

She tromped through the patch like a pro, carefully navigating through vines and furrows as she followed her daddy in search of the BEST pumpkin.

We walked all over that patch looking for a huge one. I know there were some earlier that day, I had seen people leaving with them, but now there where none. It didn't bother Alice any, she wanted an Alice sized pumpkin anyway...

So as Daddy looked for a giant one Alice picked out many smaller ones, picking them up, carrying them a bit and the deciding that it wasn't the right one and going to another one.

Finally we found the right one, and much to Dan's dismay: while perfectly formed, it was small and had no stem...

Sorry Dan, better luck next time..
