The Zoo

Alice and I went to the zoo for the first time this warm weather season. It was very fun.
We saw the monkeys first and Alice decided she wanted to take a picture of them, so she grabbed my camera, turned it in aimed it at the monkeys and snapped.

Can you see the monkey? I guarantee you he is there.
After the monkeys we continued on toward the elephants and saw what Hogle zoo will be unleashing on us this summer.

Thank we had to sit in the boat for a while, pretend to row and sing lots of versions of Row Row Row Your boat. Which got us lots of weird looks. Honestly people, when did it become illegal to PLAY with your kids?!

After this we went not over to the bears as is the usual, but to the reptile house and spent an unusually large amount of time here.

Normally alice won't go near these things.

But unfortunately for her her momentary bravery ended badly. She promptly backed up and clung to an unsympathetic mans legs with gave way to the biggest frown in the world and a request to go home.
We left the reptile house fairly quickly as I tried to cheer her up and not even this majestic fellow did the trick.

But I knew what would.

Ice cream comes, And I have to say that I thoroughly enjoy the zoos ice cream cones

And while we ate ice cream cones Alice took a few more pictures.

Easter!

I hope everyone had a wonderful easter, or spring solstice, or passover or whatever you choose to celebrate! Ours was wonderful! We spent the day with Dan's Siblings at his sister Crystals house, had an egg hunt and a bar-b-que. And because of all the going ons this post will have alot of pictures!
We started the day with church, Dan and I decided that it is better to do the worship first so as to focus on the meaning of the day, and then move to the crazy socital way of doing things.

So after afternoon nap Alice woke up to her easter basket, and the gift of yet another of my Rainbow Brite Dolls, this one is canary Yellow. I bought he Mint in Box for 45 dollars about 4 years ago.

I did not give alice the box nor the sprite. But even without those, she LOVED it. Canary Yellow has now gone with her every where and is planning on taking the trip with us to Lagoon the next time we go lol.

Alice was even nice enought to share her easter candy.
From there we went to cousins, and had an egg hunt.

Alice went crazy this year looking for eggs,

and she barely left her couin, Vanias side.
She loves Vania, I think it because they are the only two female cousins (out here anyway) and so alice clings to her.

She even started the "I don't want to go" stage early and we have been haing to plan our departures with Mike and Katia's.

After the egg hunt it was time to play,

and play,

and play,

until it got to cold and we all went inside. Watched a movie, went home and slept. All in all A very good day.

Wheeler Farm

We need to satrt out with a disclaimer. I HATE wheeler farm, Alice LOVES wheeler farm. But wheeler farm istelf, being cheap, wins out. I do not like wheeler farm for one reason only. It is disgusting. I want to show my daughter how to take care of the animals that provide so much for us. Not how to shove 12 pigs in a pen this size

YUCK! Or that if the pile of rabbit poop under the cage gets to big to just move the cage. CLEAN THAT STUFF UP!! Ok, vent over.

Alice loves wheeler farm



Did I mention She loves Wheeler Farm?


She loves it so much she can't wait for me to go with her.

She loves the horses, she leves to pet them, to feed them (she even knows to use a flat hand) and she gets REALLY mad that she can't ride them.

But she can ride this, and that makes up for it.

She loves the chickens she loves to watch the cows get milked, and we both LOVE this.


AWWWW how cute are they.

Wheeler farm was muddy on this trip and she by the time we got to my sisters house we were squelching all over the place. And we had fun until we this girls mate.


Who Ran Alice far away from them, scared her to death. Tried to charge me when we walked byhim again to go to the exit. I swear sooner or later I am going to have to kick a duck that does that.

Snow Day

Its snowing today... ok... it was. And it WAS ginat flakes. And they were falling heavy. But it only lasted for 20 minutes. But in those twenty minutes we managed to done the full snow get-up and get ourselves to the park.

And we even got Anna to go across the bridge a few times (she had crazy amounts of fun too)

A lot of my little hints and Secret Weapons (for Crystal)

My Sister in law crystal came over to visit me today, a long visit that was very much needed, although she may not have realized it. It was very nice for Alice to get to play with her cousin Ian, see Charlie and ware herself out so thouroughly that she not only asked to nap but was asleep in 15 minutes (something that has not happened in abotu 2 weeks).
While here we were able to chat about alot of things. Vacations, siblings, life... you know normal stuff. She also had a marlboro man sandwich and asked for the receipe.
The Pioneer Woman is the guiltiest of pleasures. NONE of her recepies are fat free but they are ALL absolutly wonderful. (and wouldn't you know it, I log on to get the link and her new recipe is up... French Onion Soup.. ahh going to have to try that) And they reheat well, another superb bonus. Try them, you will like them.
We also talked a bit about baby wareing. I am NO expert on this. I don't know how tight to tie things or where to put the. I have a surplus of wraps and mei tais all oer the place (and probably will for a while, haha) But there is a place I go to to cheat my way through my baby whereing knowledge. Give me a year or more and once I FINALLY have a tiny baby to wrap I WILL be a pro, I promise... so a linky do and a few for that.
